He completed his Bachelor Degree in Commerce from Madurai Kamaraj University after receiving his Diploma in Commercial Practices from Government Polytechnic Institute in Tamil Nadu, India.
Balakrishnan started his journey in the year 1989 in Chennai as an accountant for SITA World Travels India Pvt. Ltd., from where he quickly rose to the leading ranks, with his knowledge in finance and accounting and effective leadership skills. In his length of a fulfilling career, Balakrishnan completed several IATA courses like ‘Advanced Fares and Ticketing’, ‘Airline Finance and Accounting Management’, and Basic Fares and Ticketing’ in cities of Geneva and Singapore. He is also well-versed with SABRE and AMADEUS reservation systems.
In a span of about three decades, Balakrishnan has efficiently served various Travel and Tourism companies, spearheading finance & accounts management end to end. With his love for technology and automation, he has replaced many manual processes and ensured systematic accounting & best practices. He has played a pivotal role in customising high level report through Business Intelligence tool, sourced cost effective software with minimal manual intervention. He has successfully designed and implemented Internal Control Systems, Quality Audit checks and set up guidelines for accounting procedures and policies for the companies to function smoothly.
Balakrishnan has been an exceptional leader in his journey, managing several teams with ease. He believes in empowering his teams to strive for innovation and growth, hence ensuring smooth day-to-day operations.
